Women's team pursuit knocked out despite record

By: Elliott Smith | Other Sport News | Sunday August 5 2012 3:39

A New Zealand record, but the women's team pursuit have failed to win through to the bronze medal ride-off at the London Olympics.

They appeared contenders by posting a time of 3:18.514 seconds in their race against Belarus, 1.2 seconds better than the old national mark.

However, Australia and Canada both managed to better that time in their following races and will race for third place.
