Nigeria officially awarded Sydney Olympics gold

By: Radio Sport staff | Other Sport News | Sunday July 22 2012 10:21

Just days out from this year's Olympics, Nigeria has officially been awarded the men's four by 400 metre relay gold from the Sydney Games in 2000.

The Nigerians took gold originally won by the United States, who has since been disqualified because of the late Antonio Pettigrew's positive doping test.

Nigeria is elevated to title winners with Jamaica taking silver and the Bahamas the bronze.
