Auckland women's hockey coach Jason Butcher's wants to get his Black Sticks involved in the national league as quickly as possible. The competition kicks off this weekend, though only eight of the 16 Olympic squad are available to play for their regions. Butcher says he'll give his three national reps the opening week off, but it'll be important to get them back into the team quickly. He says to have half the Olympic team backing up for the NHL is actually a pretty good turnout. Photo: Photosport |
