Kiwi weightlifter eyes up second Games

| Other Sport News | Thursday May 10 2012 15:58

The Olympic preparations are ratcheting up for weightlifter Richie Patterson as he targets a second Games in London this year.

Qualification will take place next month at the Oceania Championships in Samoa.

Patterson says he's in a strong frame of mind.

"I had a competition last week that I did really well in, broke three national records and basically just been biding my time, building up for Oceanias and put all the eggs in one basket you'd say."

Patterson says a medal isn't necessarily in his sights for the Olympics but a top eight finish is one of his goals.
