Cheatley calls time on international career

By: Rikki Swannell | Other Sport News | Friday June 15 2012 10:47

A series of serious injuries has forced cyclist Cath Cheatley to call time to her international career.

Cheatley harboured hopes of returning to the sport to qualify for the London Olympics after suffering multiple fractures to her hip in a crash, racing in Taranaki last October.

But she's been unable to make enough of a recovery to be a competitive international rider.

Cheatley will take up a fulltime role as one of BikeNZ's regional development coordinators.
