The guaranteed silver medal for sailors Peter Burling and Blair Tuke at the Olympics tonight will tick off a couple of markers for the NZOC. Not only will it be New Zealand's 100th Olympic medal, it will also mean the London team has hit its target of 10 medals with a few days left in competition. That may have been a safe target in the first place, one more than was won in Beijing. With the BMX riders and kayaker Lisa Carrington still to compete, Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie also in contention in Weymouth, and the women's Black Sticks into the semifinals, there's a chance the best haul of 13 from Seoul 1988 could be passed.
