Royle, McIlroy winners

Australian triathlete Aaron Royle has won the men's elite race in Kinloch, near Taupo.

Kris Gemmell's hopes of winning the fifth round of the national triathlon series ended on the bike when he had a mechanical.

Two-time ironman world champion Chris McCormack has finished in the top ten.

Kate McIlroy earlier won the women's race.

She pulled clear over the final 200 metres to win ahead of two Dutch athletes and Debbie Tanner.

The event also doubles as the Oceania sprint championship and carries ITU ranking points.
