Blackburn gunned down at Emirates

By: Elliott Smith | Latest Football News | Sunday February 5 2012 6:36

Arsenal's turned on a football masterclass in the English Premier League, demolishing a ten-man Blackburn Rovers 7-1 at home.

The Emirates faithful were rewarded with three goals to striker Robin van Persie, while youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain put two in the back of the net and Thierry Henry slotted his first goal in his comeback to the Premier League.

Gunners mentor Arsene Wenger says it proves once again how talented Van Persie is.

He says he's an exceptional player and he's deadly in the box.

Elsewhere, Norwich has beaten Bolton 2-nil, Sunderland's won one-nil over Stoke, Wolves has beaten QPR 2-1, Swansea's proved too strong for West Brom 2-1 and Wigan and Everton has fought out a one-all stalemate.
