Kaka first athlete to hit 10 million followers

Meet the king of the sporting Twittersphere: Brazilian football star Kaka.

The Real Madrid midfielder has become the first athlete to amass 10 million followers on Twitter.

In a list of the top 20 athletes on Twitter, 11 are footballers and five are basketball players.

NFL star Chad Ochocinco, Lance Armstrong, Floyd Mayweather and Serena Williams are the others in the top 20.

Williams, with 2.6 million followers, is the only female on the list.

But none of them come close to Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber - who each have more than 20 million followers.
