Herbert impressed with Huysegems' impact

By: Guy Heveldt | Latest Football News | Monday October 22 2012 14:02

He may not be the household name like Alessandro del Piero, but the Wellington Phoenix believe Stein Huysegems provides the same value as the Italian star.

The former Belgian international scored the Phoenix's only goal in their 1-1 draw with the Brisbane Roar in Wellington.

Coach Ricki Herbert says Huysegems has already proven his worth.

"We're not in the market with million dollar signings and I've been incredibly pleased with him. He's slipped into the culture really well and he understands where we're heading and I think he'll get better over the next few weeks."

The Phoenix sit in third on the A-League ladder, and are the only unbeaten team after three rounds.
