Brockie on call as birth of first child nears

By: Brenton Vannisselroy | Latest Football News | Friday February 1 2013 16:53

Wellington Phoenix striker Jeremy Brockie is on call to return to the capital and may miss tomorrow's A-League match against the Perth Glory at Eden Park.

Brockie's joined up with the Phoenix squad in Auckland after spending the week with his wife, who's due to give birth to their first child.

"I gave it a stern talking to inside Jess' belly before I came up that it had to stay in there until at least Sunday so hopefully it listens to me."

Belgian striker Stein Huysegems will likely come into the side should Brockie need to return to Wellington.

Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert has confirmed new signing Isaka Cernak will start.
