All Whites dumped from Oceania Nations Cup

By: Brenton Vannisselroy | Latest Football News | Friday June 8 2012 17:59

The All Whites have sensationally been dumped out of the Oceania Nations Cup.

They've lost two-nil to New Caledonia in their semi-final in Honiara.

After a scoreless first half, New Caledonian striker Bertrand Kai broke the deadlock in the 60th minute when he calmly slotted the ball over New Zealand goalkeeper Jake Gleeson.

New Caledonia then sealed the result when Georges Gope-Fenepej struck a goal in the second minute of second half stoppage time.

It's the All Whites first loss to New Caledonia in 36 years.

New Caledonia will now face Tahiti in Sunday's tournament decider, with the winner to represent Oceania at next year's Confederations Cup in Brazil.
