Tim Cahill signs with US soccer franchise

Australian Tim Cahill has signed with US Major League Soccer franchise the New York Red Bulls.

The 32-year-old's move has been confirmed on the Red Bulls' website but specific terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

It comes after a frustrating season for Cahill at Everton in which he scored just two goals for the Premier League side.

The two clubs are believed to have agreed to a transfer fee of nearly $2 million.
