Herbert full of praise for Tim Brown

| Latest Football News | Saturday March 31 2012 6:36

Wellington Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert's reserving special praise for the soon-to-retire Tim Brown after his side claimed a 3-2 victory over Sydney FC in their A-League elimination final.

Brown scored the side's first goal in the 47th minute before a run of goals saw scores level at 2-2 with five minutes to play.

Striker Paul Ifill then slotted home the winner from the penalty spot to extend the Phoenix's season.

Herbert made Brown the ceremonial captain for the match and says he was phenomenal.

He says he's been a great servant for the team and showed again an outstanding performance.

The Phoenix will meet either the Melbourne Heart or Perth Glory next weekend in the minor semi final.
