By: Brenton Vannisselroy | Latest Football News | Friday August 24 2012 11:17

Barcelona's come out on top of Real Madrid in the first meeting of the season between Spanish football's heavyweights.

Barca's beaten Real 3-2 in the first leg of Spanish Super Cup at the Nou Camp.

All of the goals came in the second half.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Real in the 55th minute, but Pedro equalised less than 60 seconds later for Barcelona.

The hosts then took a 3-1 lead thanks to a Lionel Messi penalty and a Xavi Hernandez goal before Angel Di Maria pulled a late goal back for Real.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's beaten Hearts 1-0 in the second leg of a Europa League playoff in Scotland.
