Western Sydney closer to A-League minor premiership

By: AAP | Latest Football News | Sunday March 17 2013 7:52

Western Sydney's moved a step closer to wrapping up the minor premiership in its debut A-League season with a typically hard-working 3-1 win over Melbourne Heart.

Labinot Haliti scored once in each half and Iacopo La Rocca notched a late sealer as the league newcomers stretched their record winning streak to 10 and all but extinguished the Heart's finals hopes.

The Wanderers have climbed eight points clear of second-placed Central Coast.

Meanwhile, Sydney FC's kept its playoff hopes alive with a one-all draw against the Melbourne Victory.
