The Chiefs have claimed their first Super Rugby crown, beating the Sharks 37-6 in the final in Hamilton. The hosts dominated most of the game in wet, slippery conditions in front of a capacity crowd of just over 25,000 at Waikato Stadium. A Tim Nanai-Williams try saw the hosts ahead 13-3 at half time, after the Sharks opened the scoring with an early penalty. The Chiefs enjoyed the lions share of the territory in the second half, capitalising through tries to Kane Thompson, Lelia Masaga and Sonny Bill Williams. It's the first time a New Zealand team has won the title since the Crusaders victory in 2008.
