Hammett sees great potential in rookie Proctor

Related

Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett believes rookie winger Matt Proctor can step into the boots of Julian Savea for his first start in Super Rugby tonight.

Proctor replaces All Black winger Savea, who's made himself unavailable for the match with the Stormers in Palmerston North after recently being charged with assault.

Hammett says they're big boots to fill but Proctor has loads of potential.

He says they're really excited for him as he's worked hard and they're looking forward to getting another diamond from the region on the park.

Also tonight, the Blues meet the Reds in Brisbane.
