Latimer re-signs with Chiefs

By: Guy Heveldt | Latest Rugby News | Tuesday May 1 2012 6:21

Chiefs flanker Tanerau Latimer has put pen to paper and re-signed with the Super Rugby franchise.

The 26-year-old Bay of Plenty flanker has signed on until the end of the 2014 season.

Rugby editor Nigel Yalden says Latimer has stood up to the challenge of fellow openside Sam Cane by lifting his game back to the levels that saw him receive All Black honours in 2009.

It's the first of what's expected to be a number of key re-signings as coach Dave Rennie looks to secure the core of his competition leading squad beyond their current contracts.
