Gear turns attention back to Highlanders

By: Elliott Smith | Latest Rugby News | Thursday May 17 2012 7:22

Familiar feelings for Hosea Gear as he turns his full attention back to the Highlanders after missing out on a spot in the All Blacks training squad.

Gear was called in as an injury replacement, but didn't take to the field during last year's Rugby World Cup and has not made the crop of 35 for two camps over the coming weeks.

"Just disappointed every time your name doesn't get called out but I've been in that situation before, sort of been in and out of the team, and anything can happen with injuries and that and form."

"All I can do as a player is just focus on my game and it's all I can do really, and just try and get better."

The Highlanders side to meet the Bulls in Dunedin on Saturday will be named tomorrow.
