Sir JK confirms he wants Blues job

By: Nick Walker | Latest Rugby News | Monday June 4 2012 13:56

Sir John Kirwan's confirmed he wants the Blues head coaching job.

Knighted as a part of the Queen's Birthday Honours, Kirwan's wasted no time in confirming he's putting himself forward to replace Pat Lam.

"I'm a Blues man, I'm a very passionate Aucklander and it'd be a real honour to be the coach of the Blues. I need to apply for the job and hopefully I'd be successful because I'd love to come home."

Sir John says he hasn't been approached by the Blues management, but wants to throw his hat in the ring.
