The Chiefs are going to the Super Rugby final. They've beaten the Crusaders 20-17 courtesy of some desperate defence in the dying stages of their semi-final in Hamilton. The Crusaders controlled the ball for the final three minutes, before a dropped pass put smiles on the faces of the home fans. Earlier yet another controversial call from the video ref gave Chiefs prop Sona Taumalolo the opening try, with Liam Messam also dotting down minutes later. Ryan Crotty answered for the visitors to see the Chiefs in front 17-11 at half time. Kicking dominated the second half, with Dan Carter's missed penalty from near the half way line near the end proving the last chance for the Crusaders to salvage a result. The Chiefs now await the result from Sunday morning's other semi, with the Stormers looking to book a home final, while a Sharks victory would hand the Chiefs hosting rights in the decider next weekend.
