McCaw defuses "verbal grenade" ahead of Wallabies test

| Latest Rugby News | Friday August 17 2012 21:08

All Blacks captain Richie McCaw has defused talk about a "verbal grenade" ahead of the Rugby Championship opener in Sydney tomorrow night.

Coach Steve Hansen ignited the pre-test build up saying Wallabies coach Robbie Deans got his selections wrong for the World Cup semi-final last year.

McCaw says his focus is on the game and dealing with a talented Wallabies side.

"Front my point of view that's all I'm looking at. What is said through media doesn't affect me at all I don't worry about it to be honest."

Both teams have completed their final training runs at ANZ Stadium, with the All Blacks a very quick affair in comparison to the up tempo and intense Wallaby run.
