Highlanders forced to train in terrible conditions

By: Elliott Smith | Latest Rugby News | Wednesday June 27 2012 17:08

Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph is fuming after his side was forced to train in the bitter cold ahead of Friday night's Super Rugby match against the Chiefs.

The Highlanders prepared on Logan Park in muddy conditions and in temperatures close to zero, while Forsyth Barr Stadium was vacant.

Joseph says it's not good enough.

He says it's hampered their preparation and they train in mud but play on a pristine surface.

Joseph says they trained at Forsyth Barr at the start of the year and he assumed that would be the case for the rest of the season.
