McCaw returns for Crusaders tonight

By: Andy Rowe | Latest Rugby News | Sunday April 29 2012 16:12

As they edge closer to being back to full-strength, the Crusaders are starting to hint at resting and rotating their squad.

Richie McCaw will make his long-awaited return in tonight's Super Rugby match against the Waratahs in Sydney.

While coach Todd Blackadder isn't rushing to reinstate McCaw as captain, he's suggesting that it might allow him to rest current skipper Kieran Read in the next round.

"That could be a transitional thing. I'm not sure whether they'll just make that move straight away, you know I've got to keep in mind I've got to keep Reado fresh and keep him on ice as well."

Blackadder says Read has been doing a great job and it's important that people let McCaw just come back and play.

Kick off in Sydney is at 6.10.
