Pulse expecting a determined Firebirds

By: Nick Walker | Latest Netball News | Sunday April 15 2012 12:46

The Central Pulse are expecting a desperate Queensland Firebirds side to take the court in their ANZ Championship game this afternoon.

After going through the entire season undefeated in 2011, the defending champions have yet to register a win in 2012.

Pulse shooter Paula Griffin believes the home side will have a real point to prove.

"We're expecting them to just blaze it out, after losing two games they won't be happy, and two games at home. This will be their third, they'll want to win in front of their home crowd, we want to totally ruin that."

The Pulse have never beaten the Firebirds, who have started the competition with consecutive losses.

Shooter Paula Griffin says the squad is using 2012 to start building a new legacy.

"We've got a lot of firsts to do this year, we've never beaten a Steel or Pulse side before so we've ticked that box. We know that we've never won on Aussie soil so that's something we want to do this year."

Play gets underway at 2.10
