Furner defends enforcing team alcohol breaches

By: Guy Heveldt | Latest Rugby League News | Wednesday May 23 2012 13:37

Canberra coach David Furner has defended his decision to drop Josh Dugan and Blake Ferguson for alcohol breaches.

The pair will miss Friday's NRL match up with Souths after setting down a no alcohol policy following the loss to the Broncos.

Furner knows it's a big call with his side sitting 13th on the ladder and desperately needing a win.

"Yeah it is. I'm confident with the side we've got but it's also about what is being put in place in this club and all players have signed off on it so it's been a breach."

Reece Robinson will take the fullback jersey while Edrick Lee takes Ferguson's spot on the wing.
