On field communication key ahead of Lillyman's return

Warriors coach Brian McClennan's looking to returning prop Jacob Lillyman will help the side find their voice against the Broncos at Mount Smart Stadium.

Lillyman will appear in the NRL for the first time this year, after tearing his bicep in the pre-season

McClennan says they need players to make a real effort to improve their communication.

"Take some personal responsibility to make sure you work hard at communication on the field. Even if you're a quiet person off the field that doesn't matter, you can almost be a different person on the field and that's what we need."

The Warriors have let in 196 points this season, the second most in the competition.

McClennan says they won't win games if it's not sorted.

"We've got a lot of pride in our defence and we're not happy with what we've done to date."

The franchise stuck with the Storm for 67 minutes ten days ago, before being over run in the closing stages.

Lock Feleti Mateo says they've seen what happens when they don't play the full 80.

"Anything can happen, they've got so much attacking flair and plenty of go forward so you just can't sleep anywhere on the field and I'm sure we'll put our best foot forward to getting that win."

Kick-off's at 7:30pm before the Gold Coast meet the Wests Tigers and the Panthers play host to the Storm.
