Oldfield hat-trick leads Manly past Dragons

| Latest Rugby League News | Saturday June 2 2012 7:18

Manly's downed the St George Illawarra Dragons 20-8 in their NRL match at Brookvale Oval.

Young winger Michael Oldfield scored a hat-trick of tries for the reigning premiers, who led 6-2 at halftime.

Manly playmaker Kieran Foran says they had to scrap for the win.

"The Dragons like to grind it out to the very last minute and we knew it was going to be like that so we just wanted to make mistake free footy and complete our sets and build pressure as much as we could."

Manly are now tied for second on 16 points.

Meanwhile, The Titans have moved on to the verge of the top eight after a 28-12 win over the North Queensland Cowboys on the Gold Coast.
