Roosters coach puts spotlight on mediocre referees

By: Nick Walker | Latest Rugby League News | Sunday May 13 2012 8:33

Roosters coach Brian Smith has lambasted the officials following his side's 30-26 loss to the Warriors at Mount Smart Stadium.

The Warriors have back up their win over the Broncos with an equally impressive effort in scoring five tries, including doubles to Shaun Johnson and Konrad Hurrell.

Smith says there were too many bad calls to single anything out.

"I thought that the way the game ran tonight was encapsulated in the last two minutes or the last minute and a half, where in the end they didn't even know that you should blow the whistle when the hooter goes."

Stand-in Warriors fullback Jerome Ropati's set to miss six to eight weeks with a dislocated kneecap.

The Knights have been hammered 32-12 in a second half blitz by the Cowboys in Newcastle.
