Referees boss denies telling Stuart ruling was incorrect

By: Rikki Swannell | Latest Rugby League News | Thursday May 24 2012 11:45

NRL referees boss Bill Harrigan has denied telling New South Wales coach Ricky Stuart that Greg Inglis' controversial State of Origin try shouldn't have been allowed.

The Daily Telegraph has reported Stuart as saying Harrigan had admitted video referee Sean Hampstead should have ruled against Inglis - whose late try helped lift Queensland to their 18-10 win.

But Harrigan has taken the issue up with the NRL.

He says he did not speak with Ricky Stuart at all last night.
