Tiger misses the cut at Wells Fargo Championship

By: Nick Walker | Latest Golf News | Saturday May 5 2012 14:25

Tiger Woods has missed the cut for just the eighth time in his career at the PGA Golf Tour's Wells Fargo Championship in North Carolina.

Woods has signed for a one over par 73, leaving him at even par for the tournament, one shot outside the cut line.

American Nick Watney is the 36-hole leader on 12 under par, and is firmly focused on staying out in front.

"I played great and I hit the ball probably the best I have all year. Putted well, I'm very pleased but we're only halfway done so I'm really looking forward to the weekend."

New Zealander Danny Lee's been disqualified after completing his second round with a seven over 79 to be five shots away from the cut.
