McCall takes out amateur champs

Southland golfer Vaughan McCall has won the New Zealand Amateur Championship in Mt Maunganui.

McCall has beaten Auckland's Peter Lee six and five in the 36 hole final.

He is the first player in 24 years to win both the Amateur Championship and New Zealand Strokeplay titles in the same year.

Meanwhile, Munchin Keh has won the women's event, beating her sister Wenyung Keh one up in the final.
