Scott jumps out to four shot lead

By: Guy Heveldt | Latest Golf News | Sunday July 22 2012 8:08

Australian Adam Scott has waved his broomstick putter like a magic wand to jump out to a four shot lead after the third round of the Open Championship at Royal Lytham St Anne's.

Scott's shot a two under par 68 to move to 11 under, clear of Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell and American Brandt Snedeker.

Tiger Woods is still a chance at six under, however he's never come from behind heading into the final round to win a major.

Kiwi Steven Alker has fallen back to even par after a two over 72 third round, but he's still in a tie for 18th.

"I actually struck the ball better than I have all week so apart from a couple of shots, getting a couple of fairway bunkers, kind of paid the price today."
