Simon Katich retires from first class cricket

After controversially being dumped from the Australian team for last season's Ashes series, opener Simon Katich has decided to retire from first class cricket.

The 36 year old is in currently in England playing county cricket with Hampshire.

Katich will play for the Perth Scorchers in the Twenty20 Champions league in October.
