Pace bowler Tim Bresnan is adamant England can win the final cricket test against South Africa without Kevin Pietersen. The home side heads into the match at Lord's without one of their premier batsmen, with Pietersen dropped due to an argument with officials over a test message scandal. Jonny Bairstow has come in as a replacement. However, Bresnan says Pietersen's absence doesn't necessarily weaken the side. "It may be an even better side. It's just one of those things where a talented player has been replaced by another talented player, so why should we miss certain individuals just because he isn't available for selection." Reports out of the UK claim Pietersen has now apologised to officials but there is no official confirmation from the ECB. Photo: Getty Images |
