Vettori doing it tough

By: Andy Rowe | Latest Cricket News | Tuesday February 28 2012 12:05

Former Black Caps captain Daniel Vettori is finding life away from international cricket a little tough.

The current South African tour is the first major home series Vettori has missed since ruling himself out of selection for international limited overs cricket.

He's hoping his decision pays off when he returns to play in the longer format of the game.

Vettori says to be a part of the current series would be something quite special but he made the decision so his body will hopefully be right for the test matches against the Proteas.

Vettori has been playing Plunket Shield, where he recently led Northern Districts to victory over Canterbury with a five wicket bag in the second innings.
