McCullum confirms shift to middle order

Related

Brendon McCullum's moving down the order.

The Black Caps captain says he saw there was a slot available for an opener a few years ago when the middle order was very strong, and he took the chance to move up.

While they will look at a test line-up to play England closer to the time, McCullum's now effectively conceded it's time to move down again.

"This series is, for me, a really important one to try and contribute in that middle order with some high volume of runs."

McCullum's endorsed Martin Guptill as the best opener, while Peter Fulton and Daniel Flynn have shown good form in domestic cricket.
