Windies lay down the challenge

By: Guy Heveldt | Latest Cricket News | Monday July 2 2012 7:30

New Zealand's bowlers have put together a much better performance in the second Twenty20 against the West Indies in Florida, but will still have a challenge to chase.

They've restricted the Windies to 177/5 from their 20 overs, well short of the 209 they amassed in the opening game.

Chris Gayle once again top scored with 53 off 39 balls but Dwayne Bravo's late cameo of 35 off 11 boosted the Windies.

New Zealand's without captain Ross Taylor, veteran Jacob Oram and Ronnie Hira who are all out injured.
