Kevin Pietersen retires from limited overs cricket

| Latest Cricket News | Friday June 1 2012 7:08

England batsman Kevin Pietersen has retired from international limited overs cricket.

Pietersen will continue to be available for tests.

He says he wished to step aside to give the next generation a chance to bed in before the 2015 World Cup.

It is a decision which has taken the England and Wales Cricket Board by surprise.

Pietersen turns 32 next month.

His decision comes less than four months before England defend their Twenty20 world crown.

Pietersen was man of the tournament when England won the title in 2010.
