Taylor on track for return to Black Caps

By: Brenton Vannisselroy | Latest Cricket News | Wednesday July 11 2012 12:53

Ross Taylor's on track for a faster than expected return from a shoulder injury.

The Black Caps' captain has resumed training with the squad in the West Indies, just over a week after sustaining the injury in the tour opener.

Taylor faced spin bowlers in the nets yesterday and fronted up to the quicks today.

"It was nice to get out there, it was a little bit better today. Still a little bit of pain there but if I can keep improving like I have every day then I'm every chance of hopefully playing a little bit earlier than first (expected)."

Brendon McCullum has also practiced with the squad today just hours after arriving in St Kitts.

However, McCullum's unlikely to feature in tomorrow morning's third one day international.
