CJ Bruton a win away from fifth championship

By: Brenton Vannisselroy | Latest Basketball News | Friday April 20 2012 12:48

Veteran guard CJ Bruton is eyeing the chance to win his fifth Australian basketball league championship in the city where his career began.

The Sky City Breakers can clinch back-to-back titles if they beat the Wildcats in game two of the grand final series in Perth tonight.

Bruton says it's a fitting place for him to win a championship.

"Because I told the boys I helped you guys celebrate on your home floor and obviously I grew up here I'd like to celebrate here and if we can make that happen it would be special."

The Breakers will have a short video session this afternoon before having a shoot around at Challenge Stadium at 4pm New Zealand time.

Tip-off's at 11pm.
