Rondo to miss rest of NBA season

By: Rikki Swannell | Latest Basketball News | Monday January 28 2013 13:42

Boston star Rajon Rondo will miss the rest of the NBA season with a torn right knee ligament, overshadowing the Celtics' 100-98 double overtime win over the Miami Heat.

Rondo was to have been an Eastern Conference starter in the NBA All-Star Game, but will need to have surgery.

Kevin Garnett has scored 24 points to end Boston's six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile Kobe Bryant's had 21 points, 14 assists and nine rebound to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 105-96 win over the league-leading Oklahoma City Thunder, a much needed boost in a so far underwhelming season for the Lakers.
