Vukona re-signs with Breakers

Related

The SkyCity Breakers have continued their march towards next season, re-signing Mika Vukona on a three year deal.

The signing's one of a number expected from the bulk of their New Zealand players in the coming weeks.

Vukona says the decision to stay was an easy one.

"This is the best club came down to it, the organisation to the coaches to the fanbase, I didn't want to go anywhere else so to sign a three year contract, it's stability and it's something that I was looking for."

The 29-year-old will stick with the club over the next three Australian basketball seasons after a deal was unveiled at the club's awards evening last night.

Vukona says he has much longer left in him, thanks to club physio Anousith Bouaaphone.

"With Anousith there, he does a great job making sure everybody's healthy and stuff like that, he's always in your ear in the off season so you know what, this club just gets wiser and wiser every year, they learn from their mistakes and they always try and improve."

Cedric Jackson cleaned up at the club's awards night, picking up the player's player of the year award and the club's overall MVP.
