19-year-old cyclist hit by car

A teenage cyclist's been hospitalised after being hit by a car in Newtown early this morning.

Authorities say the 19-year-old female has moderate injuries to her head and chest after hitting the windscreen of the vehicle.

The incident happened on Adelaide Road shortly before 7am and the Serious Crash Unit attended the scene.

It's unclear at this stage whether the cyclist was wearing reflective clothing.
