Assault delays Wellington commuter train

A Wellington commuter train has been delayed an assault on a woman.

A KiwiRail spokeswoman says a man assaulted the woman on the Waikanae to Wellington service just after 7am.

She says the train was forced to stop near Paekakariki and the service is now running around 25 minutes late.

Police are now dealing with the incident.
