Seminar educating employers on social media

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Wellington News | Tuesday October 16 2012 8:53

Kiwi employers are being encouraged to wise up about the dangers of social media in the workplace.

Law firm DLA Phillips Fox is this morning hosting a seminar in Wellington about employee misuse of social media and what employers can do about it.

Employment law specialist John Hannan says many employers don't have adequate policies in place to protect against the inappropriate use of social media.

He says it's important employers set strict guidelines around social media use so that employees know what's expected of them.
