Wgtn councillors demand action over bus route

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Wellington News | Monday August 6 2012 11:30

Wellington City Councillors are demanding action on the Capital's Golden Mile bus route ahead of major review this week.

The council is due on Thursday to receive a report on the controversial bus route's engineering, as well as pedestrian behaviour around it.

Eastern ward councillor Simon Marsh says regardless of the report, immediate action is required.

"I think if we don't get a definitive answer, I think councillors are going to have to act on it. We're going to have to get round the table ourselves and say, we've got to do something because if somebody else gets run over in that street, I mean - it's on our heads."
