Burst water main affects Govt building

| Latest Wellington News | Wednesday July 25 2012 11:24

Water has stopped flowing from a burst water main in Wellington.

A pipe on Bowen street burst this morning, leaking water into the basement of the Charles Fergusson building, which houses the Ministry of Social Development.

Fire service and Wellington city council were at the scene but have managed to turn off the affected water main.

Fire officers say they can't estimate just how much water leaked in the area, but are recommending people in the area wear their gumboots this morning.
