No link between woman's injuries and death

By: Annabel Reid | Latest Wellington News | Friday July 13 2012 18:22

Police investigating the death of a woman on Wellington's Mount Victoria, believe there's no connection between injuries she's suffered and her death.

An investigation was launched after the body of Sofia Helen Athanassiou was found by a group of joggers off a running track on Monday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Donna Howard says police have investigated reports that Sofia had had a history of family violence, but it's not currently a focus of the investigation.

Detective Senior Sergeant Howard says police are still awaiting the results of toxicology report that may shed light on how she died.

They've finished their scene examination on Mount Victoria and the track is now open to the public.
